Detonate Festival is located 2km up on Upper Kaipikari Road, in Urenui, North Taranaki.

30 mins north of New Plymouth, 3.5 hours from Auckland, 2.5 hours from Hamilton.

Look for the big festival scaffold and signs.

Kaipikari Road is the 2nd road on the right after the Onaero Bridge.  Hit Urenui and you’ve gone too far.

Direction from Auckland or Hamilton

Urenui is the first little town you come to after passing through the Awakino Gorge and Mokau.  First thing you will notice is a Gasoline Alley servo.  Take the first left after the servo, head to the end of the road and turn left again onto Upper Kaipikari.
